Creative creations

I love making gingerbread cookies. Although time consuming, you can't beat the smell!
I use my favorite tried and true recipe which has to be refrigerated at least 3 hours before rolling out.
I am glad we have a large counter to spread out on. When we lived in our little house in Marshall, this was more challenging.
Over the years, we have found it is important to have lots of decorating choices. We do all of our decorating before the gingerbread are baked.
The girls love this process and spend a lot of time making each gingerbread special.
Look at the concentration on Kippy's face! This is serious business!

Of course, they aren't always working cooperatively together during this process, but we do have a lot of laughs along the way. Let's take a closer look at some of these creations, shall we?

Some gingerbread have blue eyes, red hot or holly hair bows, buttons made of red hots, holly leaves, snow flakes or raisins....

Others have interesting noses; big muscles; or even red hair.

Ever see a ninja gingerbread man before?

There is even a cute little grandma gingerbread with white hair and a pink corsage.
Each one is unique and delicious as well! By the end of the two hours of creating and occasional crabbing about who got to make what... I needed a break and got to take a long afternoon nap. The end.
