Fall harvest

We planted this Honey Crisp apple tree in our backyard 6 months after we moved to Fergus Falls, in April 2003. We have enjoyed 3 harvests from our tree, but this year was by far the largest despite the fact the wind has blown many apples off the tree. Last week Friday, I went out to help myself to an apple and I noticed the yellow jackets were swarming and munching on them, so I quickly did the harvest myself. Filled up one crisper drawer. The apples are crunchy & juicy... the perfect eating apple! At first the girls weren't too happy with me that I picked them all myself, but when I explained that I was getting swarmed by yellow jackets, they changed their tune.

Turning eight is great!

Kippy (a.k.a. Angelique) turned 8 years old yesterday and the little stinker got to celebrate with three different parties!

First a swim party at the AmericInn with her friends on September 25th...

Then a party at the farm yesterday, September 28th, with her cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents...
I wasn't able to make it to the party at the farm because I was in the cities for an AAUW cultural trip, but Steve took some pictures for me. We always get a picture of Kippy with her tree at the farm that was planted when she was born.
I did make it back in time for her third party with our family at her favorite restaurant in town, Don Pueblos. Happy 8th birthday to our little Angel!

As you can see, we get the same cheesy grin for all her pictures... we need to work on that!

Peer pressure...

I admit it. I am very susceptible to peer pressure. This blog is complete proof of yet another one of my many vulnerabilities. So I begin this little bloggin' adventure rather nervously. My goal is to share some of the laughter, love and fun experienced by this crazy lil' Lindgren clan.
